The minds behind the mission.

Thresh was founded by two practitioners who've spent careers building inside the big firms, and felt the model could be better.

  • One team

    Strategy, product, design, engineering

    No handoffs between disciplines.

  • Weeks, not quarters

    Lean teams, fast loops

Outcomes in the timeframe of a sprint, not a steering committee.

  • AI-native

    Every workflow

Research, design, code, ops: compounded by AI, not replaced.

  • Builder mindset

    Every person at Thresh ships

No account managers, project coordinators, or relationship layer.

Dave Macey

Founder & Managing Partner

Dave Macey

Dave has spent two decades at the intersection of strategy, design, and technology. He has built offices, scaled practices, and led teams at R/GA, Huge, and Leo Burnett. His engagements span telecommunications, technology, food service, and travel & hospitality — connecting executive corporate strategy to digital products that actually ship. Dave founded Thresh to bring AI-era leverage to senior consulting work without the layered, slide-heavy model that defines most firms.

Jason Rock

Founder & Head of Product

Jason Rock

Jason thinks about strategy like an engineer and builds like a strategist. From leading global product teams to managing manufacturing operations at Caterpillar, he's always been a builder who believes the discipline of delivery is what separates real product organizations from theatre. At Thresh, he brings that same approach: technical depth paired with strategic judgement, ideas validated through working software, success measured by the value of what ships

Paul Torres

Director of Design & Experience

Paul Torres

Paul leads the design practice at Thresh. He spent the prior sixteen years at R/GA building experience design teams across brand and product programs — engagements that spanned automotive, retail, financial services, and enterprise software. His through-line is the same in every engagement: connect the brand intent the executive team can articulate to the daily product surface a customer actually touches, and design something that survives the build process rather than only the pitch deck. At Thresh, Paul owns the design practice end-to-end — from the strategic frame, through the system, to the shipped artifact.

Partners ship. Practitioners build. Everyone owns the outcome.

Thresh runs one team across strategy and delivery. Strategy consulting paired with experienced digital practitioners across product, design, and engineering. AI-assisted delivery backing all of it. The partner who scopes the engagement is on the engagement when it ships, and is accountable for the result.

The team is built around a builder mindset: a bias toward shipping over scoping, a comfort picking up new tools, a willingness to try the version of the work that hasn't been tried before. We work in person where we can, on engagements where presence matters most. We work like one team whether we're across a desk or across a time zone. The firm is committed to a different way of working, and to delivering positive outcomes for our clients and for each other.

Client relationships belong to the people doing the work. There is no separate function whose job is to manage clients or coordinate the work. Those things are how the practitioners spend their time, not a layer on top.

The people who actually ship the work.

Strategy, design, product, and engineering, in lean teams that share accountability for shipped outcomes, not function-specific deliverables.
